WIDENING OF NH8 –TOLL ISSUE
The matter involved a PIL filed by a motorist who sought a complete free on the toll collected by the contractor widening the NH8 from Gurugram till Jaipur on the plea that the concession period being over, no toll could be collected. Anirban representing the consortium of banks investing in the project successfully argued and ensured a revocation of the stay on collection of toll before the Jaipur High Court

NOIDA TOLL BRIDGE
Anirban advises NTBCL in their pursuit to resume control, management and toll collection of their BOT contract for the DND Highway. Infrastructure. This case decided for the first time that ARCIL, which is a private asset restructuring company created under a statute was amenable to writ jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.

NDTV- INSTAPOLL-CONSTITUTIONAL CHALLENGE:
Represented NDTV in connection with lodgment of multiple FIRs across all the districts of Punjab by the Election Commission of India, with respect to alleged violations of the Representation of the Peoples Act, 1951 alleged to have been committed by NDTV by having conducted “Insta-Polls” during the General (Lok Sabha) elections. Anirban has been successful before the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court in getting the proceedings quashed. The said matter has once gain led to legislative amendments and clarity on publication of opinion polls general elections. The constitutional validity of the provisions banning polls were challenged but not pursued in view of the Parliamentary intervention.

NATIONAL AVIATION COMPANY OF INDIA LIMITED/INDIAN AIRLINES/ AIR INDIA:
Anirban represented NACIL in the transfer of all cases across the country to the High Court of Delhi wherein petitions had been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India challenging the merger of Air India Limited and Indian Airlines Limited with National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL).

3M – TENDER ISSUE:
The Government of Delhi issued tenders for high security licence plates. Anirban advised and successfully represented the clients who had secured the contracts post bidding. The unsuccessful bidder filed a writ petition challenging the award of the contract to 3M.

Successfully handled and continues to handle several legal issues arising out of the business of India’s premier news agencies, viz. the Press Trust of India.
